YES Program Celebrates Student Success and New Opportunities

For this past month of April, it has been full of meaningful milestones and exciting opportunities for our YES Program students. We proudly celebrated our students during their induction ceremony, recognizing their commitment and officially welcoming them into the program. It was a special moment that set the tone for the growth and success we’ve already begun to see. Throughout the month, our students have continued to show dedication in their placements.

We had the opportunity to visit several worksites, capturing photos of students in action and taking professional headshots to support their scholarship applications. These moments not only highlight their hard work but also help them begin building a strong foundation for their future goals. We continue to meet with students every other Wednesday to complete timesheets, check in on their progress, and provide guidance. During some of these meetings, students also participate in workshops that focus on skill-building, career readiness, and personal development.

In addition, we have been working closely with students to begin filling out scholarship applications, helping them take important steps toward their educational futures. Our students have also taken on leadership roles within the community.Our event team organized a fun and engaging scavenger hunt, where YES students stepped up to mentor and guide younger students in grades 6–8. It was incredible to see them lead with confidence, patience, and encouragement. Additionally, our BES placement students played an active role in supporting the BES March Madness event, further demonstrating their willingness to get involved and give back.

We are also excited to share that eight of our students will be traveling to Philadelphia to visit Eastern University. This opportunity will allow them to explore a college campus, learn more about academic programs, and begin envisioning themselves in a higher education setting. Experiences like this are incredibly impactful, helping students see what is possible and motivating them to continue working toward their goals. Looking ahead, we have so much more planned for our students.

From resume building and presentation skills to developing business knowledge and participating in community service, we are committed to continuing to provide opportunities that prepare them for success in every area of life. We are so proud of the growth we’ve seen this month. Our students are not only gaining valuable work experience, but they are also developing confidence, leadership skills, and a vision for their future. We look forward to seeing all they continue to accomplish in the months ahead.
