Register Now for Peer Support 101 at Blackfeet Community College

Blackfeet Community College will offer Peer Support 101, a comprehensive 40-hour training program designed to prepare individuals for meaningful work in behavioral health peer support and meet the educational requirements necessary to apply for licensure as a Certified Behavioral Health Peer Support Specialist (CBHPSS) in Montana.

The course provides foundational education and instruction in the essential elements of peer support work, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills needed to support individuals experiencing addiction and other behavioral health disorders. Licensed CBHPSS workers play an important role in behavioral health systems, offering peer-based support under the supervision of a qualified mental health provider.

The training will be instructed by Ben Gallagher-Horn and will take place June 29 through July 3, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily in BPL 135 at Blackfeet Community College.

Students may enroll in the course for academic credit, with tuition and fees based on the Blackfeet Community College tuition and fee schedule. For those seeking professional development opportunities, BFCC and OPI Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits are available free of charge.

Please note that according to the Montana Board of Behavioral Health, students pursuing CBHPSS licensure must attend the entire class with no exceptions in order to meet training requirements.
