Presenting Dr. Mike Bruised Head
Dr. Mike Bruised Head will deliver a culturally grounded presentation for the staff and faculty of Blackfeet Community College, focusing on the rich and enduring traditions of the Blackfoot people. This session will explore key aspects of Blackfoot history, language, and oral traditions, emphasizing the importance of stories and ceremonies as living sources of knowledge and identity. Drawing from both academic and community-based perspectives, Dr. Bruised Head will also discuss culturally appropriate research methods that honor Blackfoot ways of knowing. Participants will gain insight into how Indigenous knowledge systems can be respectfully integrated into education, research, and institutional practices. This presentation offers an opportunity to deepen cultural understanding, strengthen connections to Blackfoot heritage, and support the ongoing revitalization of language and traditions within the college community.
