Introducing the Inaugural Cohort of the Online Visual Sovereignty Endorsement Program!
Today, the inaugural cohort of Blackfeet Community College’s Visual Sovereignty Endorsement Program met for the first time!
Students are already brainstorming film, photography, and storytelling projects and making plans to get out into the community to document, create, and put visual sovereignty into practice. The cohort discussed developing their own stories, community-based media making, cultural protocols, and opportunities to gain real-world experience behind the camera.
This is the core of the Visual Sovereignty Online Endorsement Program at BFCC: Indigenous students learning the tools to create, control, and circulate their own images and stories while building practical skills and professional pathways in media.
We’re just getting started.
