Hands-On Farrier Course Coming to BFCC
Blackfeet Community College, in collaboration with the USDA Extension Program and RVETS, is offering a hands-on farrier course designed for individuals interested in learning hoof care and basic horseshoeing skills.
This course will take place over four one-day monthly sessions from June through October 2026, providing participants with practical, real-world experience in trimming and shoeing horses. Instruction will be led by experienced professionals, ensuring participants gain both foundational knowledge and hands-on application.
The course is free and open to all skill levels, making it an excellent opportunity for beginners as well as those looking to expand their existing skills. Participants who complete the course will receive a set of farrier tools to support their continued practice.

An informational session and live demonstration will be held prior to the course:

Community members are encouraged to attend the info session to learn more about the course structure, meet instructors, and see demonstrations of the skills that will be taught.
