BFCC Students Gain Hands-On Experience Through Solar Energy Partnership
Blackfeet Community College (BFCC) is partnering with Tribal Energy Alternatives and the Tribal Solar Accelerator Fund (TSAF) to demonstrate how solar energy projects can address community needs while creating meaningful educational opportunities for students.
Through this partnership, BFCC students had the opportunity to participate in a solar energy project during the summer of 2026, gaining hands-on experience with renewable energy and seeing how concepts learned in the classroom can be applied to real-world projects. Their involvement provided an opportunity to learn more about solar energy, work alongside professionals and partners, and gain practical experience in an emerging field.
As a Tribal land-grant college, BFCC is committed to providing students with opportunities that connect education, community needs and hands-on learning. Partnerships such as this help students build knowledge and experience that can be applied within their communities and in future careers.
The solar energy project also demonstrates how renewable energy can be part of conversations about sustainability and the future of the Blackfeet Nation. By giving students the opportunity to take part in these projects, BFCC is helping build awareness of renewable energy technologies while supporting the development of the next generation of students who can contribute to their communities.
