BFCCLiberalStudiesDepartmenttoHostAuthorVisitwithTaliaLakshmiKolluri
Blackfeet Community College’s Liberal Studies Department will host a virtual author visit and reading with Asian American writer Talia Lakshmi Kolluri on Monday, October 26, 2026, from noon to 1 p.m. The event is open to all students, staff, faculty, and community members who would like to attend.
The visit is connected to CRWR 102: Introduction to Creative Writing. Students in the course will be reading stories from Kolluri’s wildlife and eco-narrative short story collection, What We Fed to the Manticore (2022), in preparation for her visit.
Reading, Writing, and Wildlife Stories
What We Fed to the Manticore brings together short stories centered on wildlife and the natural world. In preparation for the author visit, students will engage with Kolluri’s writing while also working on their own ecoliterature and wildlife stories.
Although the reading is connected to a creative writing course, everyone is welcome to listen and participate, even if they have not read Kolluri’s work. The event offers an opportunity to hear from a published author, learn about her writing, and connect with literature that considers relationships between people, animals, and the environment.
