Fall 2020 Student Registration Process

Greetings, in our effort to prioritize the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff, BCC has transitioned from in-person registration to an online process. BCC must maintain adherence to the BTBC Incident Command COVID-19 restrictions.  Please plan on scheduling a time to meet with your counselor, advisor, and staff member for registration via Zoom, email, or phone call, if you are not able to get through on the phone, please leave your name and a contact number and your call will be returned. When you come on campus to pick up your IT information, you will be required to wear a mask, social distance, and have your temperature taken and complete a short form.

Please note: Students will need to download the Zoom and Jotform apps. (Notice: Please use your bfcc.edu email when creating your Jotform account. You’ll receive your bfcc.edu email after Step 4 )

Step 1 – New Student Orientation

Orientation dates August 17-20 and August 24-27. There are two sessions each day and the times are: 9-12 pm and 1-3 pm.

  • Students call or email Linda Sue for scheduling.
  • Online Student Orientation is available through the Blackfeet Community College Facebook page. A link is provided for orientation for each session. Follow the directions to access the video. Write down the meeting ID so you have it to enter the meeting.
  • Students will need to create Zoom accounts to access orientation.

Step 2 – New Student Assessments

Assessment dates August 17-20 & August 24–27, 2020. There are two sessions each day and the times are: 9-12 and 1-3

  • Students will be contacted by AES staff and scheduled for an appointment.
  • Each section will be limited to 5 students.
  • Students must wear masks and check-in at the main BPL door area to have their temperature taken and complete the check-in form.
  • Students will social distance during testing.

Step 3 – Admissions

Ali Smith

The Admissions Technician has been assigned a cell phone (406) 845-4081 to improve communication and services for students.

  • Contact Ali for application information. Please call or email her at alismith@bfcc.edu . If you need to leave a message, leave your name and number and your call will be returned. Applications are available through US mail and email. You can also apply online here Online Admissions Application.
  • Once your file is complete Ali will process your admissions letter. The letters can be picked up at BPL or standard US mail, or email.
  • Students will be assigned a student identification number and advisor depending on their major if they are new during admissions.
  • The Admissions Technician will be on campus due to the need to access student files.
  • Student Files require official Certificates of Indian Blood, High School transcripts, Immunization records, and, verification of Social Security number.
  • The Admissions Technician has two drop boxes located outside the south side of Beaver Painted Lodge building.

Step 4 – IT Department (BPL123)

IT Department Staff

Students need to text 406-845-5807 or email IT at askbcc@bfcc.edu to set up an appointment.

  • Students will be interviewed to determine if they need a laptop/internet access.
  • IT will assign the email and log-in information from Ashes Chief Building.
  • Laptop distribution will take place in Ashes Chief Building. Watch for signage. You will be required to adhere to COVID-19 social distancing, wear a mask, complete a short form, and check-in at the temperature kiosk.
  • Students will need to complete a checkout form. A laptop check-out will be in- person only. Students must pick up themselves.

Step 5 – Student ID

Step 6 – Academic Advising

Division Chairs and Faculty

Students need to call or email the administrative assistant for their division to schedule an appointment.

  • New students will need to contact their advisor to schedule a zoom meeting. (Notice the list of degree programs and contact the correct admin assistant to schedule your meeting.)
  • Returning students will work with their current advisor through ZOOM.

BCC is diligently working on Blackbaud the new database platform for the college. We are on track to process all registration online. In the event we are unable to have online registration the following process will apply.

New students will be assigned an advisor during admissions. Depending on their declared major. Students need to contact their advisor through the division administrative assistant to set up a zoom advising session or phone call. Students can call, if no one answers, leave your name and phone number and your call will be returned. If you choose, you can send an email and you will be scheduled for an advising appointment. You will receive a reply to your email with your appointment information.

  • Students will need to create a Jotform log-in account using their bfcc.edu email accounts.
  • The Division Chairs and Faculty will send a jotform link to the student to complete the registration form that is available on the BCC website.
  • In some cases, the advisor will utilize a paper form. If the division chair completes the paper form, these forms will be delivered to the Registrar’s office by the Division Administrative Assistant and students will be entered into their courses.

Students, to set up an advising appointment, have any questions or need to contact your advisor call 406-338-5411 and at the prompt dial the admin assistant extension, if no one answers, please leave a message with your name and contact number, your call will be returned or send an email to the admin assistant.

Step 7 – Registration

Step 8 – Financial Aid

Gaylene DuCharme

  • Financial Aid Director is available to assist students with their Financial Aid.
  • The financial aid forms will be available on the JICS web portal, bfcc.edu website, and through email requests from students.
    • Students can return required forms through several options: Scan and email them, fax them to 406-338-3776, or utilize the dropbox.
  • Financial Aid Director/Financial Aid Technician can set up ZOOM meetings or phone calls with students to work on FAFSA or other situations that require more time.
  • Financial Aid Director is sending out YouTube videos on how to complete student’s FAFSA.

Step 9 – Student Accounts

  • New & Returning Students: Student invoices will be mailed or emailed out by the third week of the semester.
  • Student Accounts will email student information to the Bookstore for Paula to process bookstore orders.

Step 10 – Everfi

  • Students must email Helen Augare or Rachel Wippert to receive the Everfi link.
  • Students will receive an email with the link to complete Everfi.
  • Completion tracking will be monitored through Helen Augare and Financial Aid Director.
  • Students will be required to complete Everfi before their Financial Aid refunds are disbursed.

Step 11 – Bookstore

New and returning students: If you are using Financial Aid – PELL to purchase your books

  • Please submit a copy of your PELL award letter to the bookstore and a quote from Fern that states how much they are allowed to purchase books.
  • If you are eligible to use a program or have a scholarship to purchase your books, you need to submit a copy of your award letter.
  • Students can order books and have them shipped to BCC (free of charge).
    • Book order turnaround time is approximately 3 days.
  • Bookstore staff will set up a curbside pick-up.

Disabilities

Karen Davis

  • Students will need to contact Karen Davis. You can call, if there is no answer, leave your name and contact number and your call will be returned. If you want, you can send Karen an email and she will reply with an appointment time.
  • Students must Self-disclose to the Disabilities Coordinator or are directed to the Disabilities Coordinator for services.
  • After initial meeting with Disabilities Coordinator, students will need to submit the required documents. Students can drop them off at the BPL South Door (main entrance), there will be confidential (red) envelopes there for you to place your documents in.
  • Students will be required to complete the application for Vocational Rehabilitation services. Completed applications can be mailed to Karen, scanned and emailed to her, or dropped off.
  • The Disabilities Coordinator will make a referral to Blackfeet Voc-Rehab as needed. She will notify students when this process is complete.

Student Counseling Services

  • Linda Sue Racine will coordinate the student counseling services. She can be contacted at linda_sue@bfcc.edu , or you can call 406-338-5421, ext 2265, 406-338-3396, or 406- 845-5253. If no answer, please leave your name and a number and your call will be returned.
  • Counselors will be assigned to students and work with them throughout the semester.
  • Division Chairs/Faculty will make referrals for students who are missing classes, falling behind in their studies, etc. and students will be contacted.
  • If the instructor would like a conference call the counselor will set that up.
