The Blackfeet Community College Learning Center is part of the Academic Enrichment Services Program. The Learning center provides free tutoring to individuals and groups in Math, English, Reading, Natural and Social Sciences, and Study Skills.
Professional and Peer Tutors are available during the academic year, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Learning Center houses 20 internet accessible computers that can be used for research, homework, applying for scholarships, filling out the FAFSA application, and checking email. We are located in the Beaver Painted Lodge next to the Student Commons.
Traits of a Successful Tutor
Punctuality – Be on time and ready to assist students immediately.
Hard-Work – Become familiar with the texts being used and the software available.
Cooperation – Tutors must be willing to work with the students and the faculty.
Commitment – Tutoring demands a definite commitment of time and energy.
Attitude – The response of the Tutor can contribute to the Tutee’s understanding during the tutoring session.
Be Positive – Give feedback, point out errors, teach and re-teach.
